Natural History Bike Tour

Description

A bike wheel against a background of green trees

Discover the natural history of northeast Illinois as we cycle the roads of the Arboretum. The Arboretum contains wonderful examples of the region’s wetland, prairie, and woodland ecosystems. Learn about the characteristics of these natural areas that define northeast Illinois. Find out about the fascinating geology that characterizes the landscape, including the glacial moraines that are responsible for the hilly terrain at the Arboretum.

This program coincides with Vehicle-Free Hours at the Arboretum, so participants can peddle the peaceful roads without concern of car traffic.
