Latin Names of Plants and Animals

Learn to understand the Latin names for plants and animals by relating them to English words. We will look at the common Latin and Greek words used for scientific names and the English words that share the same root. For example, Quercus alba ("oak, white") shares a root with albino, albumen, albumin, album and Albuquerque.
