Forest Therapy Guide Training

Forest Therapy or Shinrin-Yoku combines traditional techniques of mindfulness with a unique approach to nature connection drawn from the latest medical research. You will learn skills that are applicable in any forest ecosystem and can be adapted to other natural settings and human-built environments such as city parks and at The Morton Arboretum. Landscape For Life instructs gardeners and those interested in landscape sustainability how to transform a traditional landscape into a beautiful and healthy environment that also benefits the surrounding community. Acorn Ecology

Large oak trees will produce hundreds of thousands of acorns in their lifetime; only one will survive and grow to be a tree of the same size. Learn about strategies to stimulate oak reproduction, the fate of the unfortunate acorns, and oak seedlings at The Morton Arboretum. Saturday, June 6, 2015, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
