Forestry Merit Badge

Earn your Forestry Merit Badge at The Morton Arboretum as you create your own field book to identify local trees and shrubs by leaves, buds and bark.  Through this hand’s on class, scouts will understand the importance of forest ecosystems, learn management techniques to preserve biodiversity, and investigate the health of a forest by observing signs of insects, fires, and disease.

Notes: Homework is required between sessions. This class is designed for boy scouts working on their merit badge requirements. Limit 14.  Open to ages 11-17.
