Drawing Nature II

Grow your nature drawing skills under the guidance of a knowledgeable instructor. Building on the introduction of skills learned in Begin to Draw Nature, by the end of this class you will have a strong understanding of basic techniques and composition through demonstrations, practice, and one-on-one support from your instructor. Using botanical specimens from the Arboretum’s grounds, you will:

  • learn to achieve depth or distance in your drawing using atmospheric perspective
  • use shading and shadows as you learn to use light creatively
  • practice contouring and achieving a continuous tone
  • continue to develop eye/hand coordination.
