The International Oak Society is dedicated to the appreciation, conservation, and study of these magnificent and important trees worldwide. For its 20th anniversary conference, the Society returns to The Morton Arboretum near Chicago, where it was founded in 1994. Register today! 

Field trips before, during, and after the conference will explore magnificent collections and stands of oaks in the American Midwest, where they are a keystone species. Seed season and the fall color display are likely to be at their height.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION:

Membership in the International Oak Society is required for participation in this conference, Pre-Conference Tour, or Post-Conference tour. For more information on the benefits of International Oak Society membership, please visit the IOS webpage

Membership categories include:
1) Individual: general membership
2) Family: two or more family members in a single household
3) Supporting: an individual or family electing to pay dues at a higher rate to support the Society
4) Life: one-time dues payment with lifetime benefits
5) Institutional: a triennial dues payment allows up to 4 representatives from an institution to participate in IOS activities at reduced fees; this is optional, institutions may join at the Individual rate.

Individual, Family, and Supporting Memberships are available at one, two, or three-year rates. Family, Supporting,and Institutional Memberships will receive one set of publications and mailings and are entitled to one vote. LODGING AND TRANSPORTATION

To reach the hotel from the Arboretum, drive south on Route 53 just past Warrenville Road and turn right.

The two closest airports to The Morton Arboretum are Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) or Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW).  Please see the Maps and Directions page on the Arboretum website for additional information on getting to the Arboretum.

A limited number of shuttles will run between the Hyatt Lisle and the Arboretum each day. Please check back for detailed shuttle times.

Travel insurance is highly recommended for participants.

 

SEED EXCHANGE

As in previous years, there will be a seed exchange for conference delegates to share acorns they have collected from interesting and unusual oak species and hybrids from around the world. Click here for guidelines for the 2015 IOS Seed Exchange

FEES AND ADMISSION: 

Conference Fees include admission to The Morton Arboretum on day of conference.

Full conference registration: $325.00 USD (includes keynote and Gala Dinner; IOS membership required)
Keynote only: $20.00 USD (no IOS membership required)
Single day conference registration: $125.00 USD (10/19, 10/20, or 10/21; Gala Dinner not included in single day registration; no IOS membership required)
Gala Dinner only: $60.00 USD (no IOS membership required)

Scholarships: Scholarship applications are now closed.

Payment: We can accept bank transfers, credit cards, or personal U.S. checks; bank transfer or credit card payments are preferred. Checks will not be accepted after September 8, 2015; we are not able to accept international checks. If you wish to pay via bank transfer, please email the Registrar’s Office at Registrar-ed@mortonarb.org with your request, include your email address or the email address of an employee of your organization authorized to make payments, and our Business Office will contact that person.

Notes: Seats are limited, so please register early.  Registrations for the full conference will be accepted pending verification of membership in the International Oak Society (IOS).  If you are not an IOS member and would like to join to participate in this conference, please select a membership option when you register. Registration will close October 14th. If you wish to cancel your conference registration, a full refund, minus a 10% processing fee, will be available until October 2. After October 2, no refunds will be available.  International Oak Society membership can be refunded with conference membership until the first issue of the International Oaks journal is shipped to a member; after that time, no refunds on membership are available.
