Growth Rate:Medium  Zone: 3-7

Cultural Requirements: Prefers moist, organic-rich soil in full sun to light shade;pH adaptable; shallow-rooted; water in dry periods; benefits with mulch layer for a cool root environment; not pollution tolerant.

Ornamental Characteristics: Dark green leaves are light green beneath; casts moderate to dense shade; small, fragrant clusters of yellow pendulous flowers in June; small round, nut-like fruit attached to papery bract.

Use in the Landscape: Handsome street tree, shade tree; specimen tree for large landscapes.
