Cultural requirements: Prefers full sun to part-shade; afternoon shade prevents scorch on leaf edges; best in slightly acidic soil; does not tolerate wet or compacted soil; avoid windy sites; drought-sensitive; water well in dry periods; plants benefit with a 3 to 4-inch layer of mulch to moderate soil temperature.

Ornamental Characteristics: Purple leaves with an irregular rose and pinkish white border.
