Height: 40-50' Spread: 35-40 Habit/Form: Pyramidal Growth Rate: Medium  Zone: 3-7

Cultural Requirements: Full sun to light shade. Prefers moist, deep, fertile, well-drained soils. Tolerant of difficult growing sites as well as high pH soil. Can be trained into a hedge. Easily transplanted.

Ornamental Characteristics: Small, heart-shaped leaves with dense, pyramidal habit. . Maintains a single leader with a nice branching habit. Good dark, green foliage turns a yellow fall color. Fragrant flowers in June.

Use in the Landscape:
Shade tree, lawn and street tree. Can be used as a large hedge, in city malls and plantings. Widely used as a street tree.
