Height: 20-25' Spread: 20-25' Habit/Form: Broad, and often suckering.
Growth Rate:
Medium Zone: 4 to 9
Cultural Requirements: Best in part shade to full sun in moist, slightly acidic soils high in organic matter. Plants are shallow-rooted and should not be used in confined areas; can become susceptible to heat and drought stress. Some susceptibility to rust has been observed.
Ornamental Characteristics: An excellent four-season plant. Numerous pink-tinged buds open to white flowers in spring; edible fruits ripen to a blue-black and are quickly devoured by birds. These trees offer excellent autumn display of rich orange, orange-red leaf color. Silvery-gray, smooth bark offers winter interest.
Uses in the Landscape: A great addition to any garden; wonderfully sized as a specimen plant or for use in a naturalized setting. A growing number of cultivars selected for growth habit, flower display, and/or fall beauty are readily available.

Aerial Salt Tolerance: Highest degree of salt tolerance. Use in the most exposed areas.
