Cultural Requirements: Tolerant of part shade, but best flowering occurs in full sun. Grow in loose, well-drained soils; pH adaptable. Once plants are established they are fairly heat and drought tolerant. Typical of all lilacs, prune after blooming for best flowering the following year.
Ornamental Characteristics: An upright spreading tree with amber-colored, peeling bark, often multi-stemmed. Large 4-6-inch, clusters of creamy-white flowers appear in mid to late June. Flowers have a slight honey-scent.
Uses in the Landscape: Tree lilacs are dependable urban trees, including as parking lot or boulevard plantings, which tolerate a wide range of conditions. Large flowers in early summer, exfoliating bark, and persistent inflorescence create multiple seasons of interest.

Aerial Salt Tolerance: Highest degree of salt tolerance; use in most exposed areas
