Height: 50-70' Spread: 20-30' Habit/Form: Pyramidal Growth rate: Medium Zones: 4-10

Cultural requirements: Sun; adaptable to wet, dry, and swampy locations; prefers acidic soils; shows chlorosis symptoms in high pH soil.

Ornamental Characteristics: Straight narrow tree with wide base;  green leaves turn a russet-red in fall; a stately deciduous conifer; native to Midwest.

Use in the Landscape: Specimen or grouping for parks, larger areas, and around lakes.


Birds Attracted: Waterfowl

Plant Appeal to Birds: Seeds; shelter 

Aerial Salt Tolerance: Highest degree of salt tolerance; use in most exposed areas.
