Cultural Requirements: Best in full sun to part shade, extremely hardy and adaptable to any well-drained soil. Flowers on old wood, prune after flowering.

Ornamental Characteristics: A compact, hardy shrub. Long leaves are predominately purple with green underside that maintains its color throughout the summer. Numerous flowers are red with yellow centers appearing in early spring, lasting 3-4 weeks.

Uses in the Landscape: Great plant for mixed borders, groupings, or shrub borders.
