Cultural Requirements: Prefers full sun to light shade in moist, well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soils. Avoid planting in windy sites.
Ornamental Characteristics: The soft, 1-1 ½-inch long green needles are flat with two distinct white bands on the underside. When crushed they smell of camphor. The medium brown, oblong cones are 2-4 inches long, with a characteristic bract projecting from each scale. Cones mature in one year.
Uses in the Landscape: Use as a specimen or in groups and as a screen in large landscapes.
