Cultural Requirements: Full sun to part shade in well-drained, slightly acidic soil; tolerant of gravelly soils; protect from wind; may suffer browning in harsh winters; water in dry periods.

Ornamental Characteristics: Horizontal branches often pendulous; tiny, ¼" deep green needles densely arranged horizontally around stems; small male flowers are carmine-red; bright red cones appear on short-stalks in spring.
