Height: 4-6' Spread: 4-6'  Habit/Form: Broadly rounded Growth Rate: Slow to Medium
Zone: 5-9

Cultural Requirements: Best in organic, rich, moist, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade; blooms on old wood, prune after flowering; needs a sheltered location and winter protection.

Ornamental Characteristics: Excellent 4-season plant with large, 10-14" long white, conical-shaped flower bloom in June, gradually changing to pink then fade to brown for winter interest. Oak-leaved shaped leaves emerge silvery green in spring, change to medium green in summer and develop outstanding burgundy-red fall color; older stems exfoliate to reveal a rich brown inner bark.

Uses in the landscape: large specimen or accent plant, in mass for foundations or other locations near homes or patios; in shrub borders or naturalize in open woodland areas
