  • The Acorn Express open-air Tram
    Experience the beauty of the Arboretum's 1,700 acres on a guided tram tour. April 25, 2016 through November 6, 2016, weather permitting.
  • Children creatively playing at the Nature's Kitchen
    Enjoy creative, unstructured outdoor play at our new Nature's Kitchen near Parking Lot 20.
  • Library Exhibit: Plant Hunters
    The exhibit features artifacts from the library’s special collection relating to famous plant hunters, and it explores modern conservation efforts by scientists at the Arboretum. Tuesdays-Saturdays, during regular library hours.
  • A mounted bat under glass
    Beneficial Bats — What hangs from its feet, loves mosquitoes, and sleeps all day? Weekdays in October, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., and Weekends in October, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Scarecrows that look like the Peanuts Cartoon charaters
    Admire creations from local scout troops and vote for your favorite scarecrow. Daily in October, 2016. 7:00 a.m-sunset
  • Black and white photo of Thornhill
    Enjoy interactive theatre at Thornhill mansion. Don’t forget your detective hat. I dates are sold out.
  • Display of fall bulbs
    Shop dozens of varieties of dutch bulbs such as tulips, daffodils, iris, alliums, crocus, fritillaria, and many more. Opening weekend, October 1-2, 2016, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. October 3-31, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • A visitor learning about endangered tree species by using the interactive panels
    Come learn about the gifts that the world's endangered trees give us—and how you can join the Arboretum in saving them. Daily, 7:00 a.m. - sunset
