Tree Seedlings
Seedlings are often given to children and other participants in Arbor Day events. Spruce and fir trees are popular because they are green at Arbor Day when most deciduous trees aren't leafed out yet.
Seedlings are usually bare-root (without soil) and need to be handled carefully. Keep seedlings cool and moist so that tiny roots don't dry out. Pack the roots of individual seedling trees with wet newspaper or other moistening agent in plastic bags.
